South Cooking Lake is a hamlet within Strathcona County, located on Highway 14, approximately 20 km southeast of Sherwood Park.
The South Cooking Lake Area has many options for families, including a day-use park that is great for family picnics. There are walking trails, bird viewing areas, grassy areas for sports activities, an updated playground, and a community hall, which is available for rent.
The South Cooking Lake and Area Community League was started nearly 100 years ago and remains active today, hosting numerous activities and events each year, including Trail Days in the summer, the Christmas Craft Sale, a weekly Farmers Market in the summer, and numerous dances and other activities throughout the year. We also offer many options for weekly classes for kids, teens and adults, including yoga, barre martial arts, dance, art, photography, gymnastics, soccer, meditation and much more!
